In the last weeks 1600 pandas invaded Hong Kong. They are part of the 1600 panda world tour, that was launched in 2008 by the WWF. There are only 1600 pandas left in the wild, which is why French artist Paulo Grangeon made exactly that number of pandas from paper mache. His pandas have been on quite a tour already, there were exhibitions in France, the Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and Taiwan. Between June 9th and July 17th the cute animals can be found at various locations in Hong Kong. They already “visited” 10 important landmarks like the Clock Tower, the Tsim Sha Tsui Waterfront, the Big Buddha, Ocean Park, they rode the famous Star Ferry and the Hong Kong tram and lots more. Currently they can be found at PMQ in an exhibition.
Aren’t these pictures amazing? They can all be found on the 1600 panda Facebook site.
