Today we had a visit from a Kokka employee because they wanted to show us the newest designs they just released. That’s so super convenient when the suppliers come to your office to show you their newest collection. I must say, I LOVE LOVE LOVE their new collection. There are so many adorable, cute, kawaii, lovely fabrics, it will be really hard to choose which ones we will order. Unfortunately, I cannot order all of them because there is a budget limit Below you can see some of my favourite new fabrics from Kokka. I hope we will get them for our shop soon.

How to make your own Hello Kitty curtains? It’s easy. You only need the right Hello Kitty fabric, a sewing machine and a bit of sewing know-how. A customer of us made some really cute Hello Kitty curtains for her daughter’s bed. She also made matching Hello Kitty bedclothes. Have a look at the pictures she sent us. Today, we got our new order delivered from Japan. We ordered lots of Q-Lia items including bags, flip flops, bento boxes, memo pads, stickers, chopsticks and notebooks. They are also super cute and so kawaii! My favorites are a Alice in Wonderland notebook, the blue bear bag and some capsule stickers with a pudding with faces on it. Super CUTE!!! I took a few pics of some of the items after we opened the boxes.

We ordered some more cute hoodies as our bear ear hoodies are really popular among our customers. This time we got a cute brown hoodie with long bunny ears and short sleeves. It is a Korean design and just super cute for a girl or young adult. It can be worn as a normal sweater or as a longshirt/dress with boots.

Another hoodie we got is a grey hoodie with a giraffe print on it. It is also quite long, has fake fur in the hood and a really cute mother giraffe with baby giraffe print on it.

And another hoodie we got is a teddy bear hoodie. It is pink, long, has a fluffy teddy bear in the front and also a fluffy hood. Taylor Momsen from the popular TV series “Gossip Girl” has one as well. That hoodie looks great with a pair of leggings and boots.

Bento Boxes are a new trend for making attractive lunch boxes for children for kindergarten or school. In Japan, mothers prepare their kids’ lunch in so called “bento boxes” and the food is presented in a very cute way. There are Hello Kitty shaped vegetables, rice balls with faces and so on. It is getting more popular in Western countries as well. The bento boxes themselves are usually really cute lunch boxes with characters like Hello Kitty, Rilakkuma or some really cute animals. The most current trend is bento boxes with fairy tale prints like Alice in Wonderland, Little Red Riding Hood or Snow White and Matryoshka. Matryoshka is the famous Russian doll with a set of dolls of decreasing sizes placed one inside the other. They are the most popular designs at the moment.

Our customers asked to get these bento boxes for our shop and therefore we sourced a supplier with really cute animal bento boxes and cutlery sets. The bento boxes are 2-layered lunch boxes with a pair of cute chopsticks. They come in 4 different colors and animal patterns: pink (piggy), green (frog), blue (bear) and yellow (bear). We also have the matching cutlery sets with chopsticks, fork and spoon. We just found another bento box supplier from Japan who will ship us our first order at the end of this month.

Bento boxes can be used as many different things, including their original use as a lunch box, as a sandwich box, for keeping bits and pieces, as a make-up case or many other things.

I have another update from Kokka: We sell the fabrics from our first order with Kokka crazily and therefore we decided to place a new order now to prevent running out of stock. We got one wholesale order from a shop in Germany and therefore we can combine the 2 orders, ship them together and save some shipping costs. We ordered over 35 bolts of Kokka fabrics! They will be shipped by ship. I am looking forward to get them, the expected arrival date is 21.10.2009. I will definitely post a blog post when the fabrics arrive. So keep coming back for news!

Today we finally received our first order of Kokka fabrics from Japan. They were sent by courier directly from Kokka’s warehouse and it took only 1 day to arrive. It’s definitely an advantage to be in Hong Kong

We ordered fabrics with prints like christmas deers, matryoshka animals, cute bears, black kitty, toadstools, Alice in Wonderland and matryoshka dolls. Below you can see 2 pics I took to show you how the fabric bolts were delivered. They came in 2 huge long packages wrapped with a very strong paper outside and plastic wrapping inside.

I got an email from one of our customers who sent me a picture of a bag she made with one of our fabrics. Its a really cute pink fabric with hamsters on it. She made a cute little handbag with it and will sell it in her own shop now.

Today we received new fabric swatches from Kokka in Japan. They are the newest designs from September 2009. Kokka releases every month new designs, therefore we get every month new swatches delivered and based on them, we place our orders.

Sorry about writing so much about Kokka in the last time but we are selling them so well since we started working with them together and we get updates about new designs often. I just want to share all these exciting news with you. There will be blog posts about our other products coming next, I promise!

Yesterday, I got a call from Kokka telling me that they just got over 30 new fabrics in that were just released. They want to show us the fabrics, so we set up a meeting for today. Luckily, typhoon Koppu who went over Hong Kong last night, made landfall a few hours before the meeting, so it was safe to go out. It is pretty dangerous to leave your home during a typhoon in Hong Kong because of all the signs hanging above everywhere and quite a few fall every time. Anyway, we went to their office and we saw LOTS of super cute new designs. I can’t believe how their designers can come up with so many new cute designs every month. There were cute animals dressed as Matryoshkas, cute black kitty fabrics, little piggies with icecream cones and glitter, peach and cherry blossom fabric and so many more. I will post some pics of the newest Kokka fabrics after the swatches arrived. They will send them to us by courier tomorrow.
