Have you heard of White Day?

We have not, until today. White Day is a big thing in Japan and related to Valentine’s Day. Apparently on February 14th only girls and women give Valentine’s gifts to men. Exactly one month later, on March 14th, it’s time for the males to pay back. They buy gifts for the women who they received presents from, usually cookies, jewelry, chocolate or lingerie, particularly of white colour. Some “unofficial” rule even says that the men’s gift has to be three times as expensive as the one they got from the woman. Isn’t that a crazy tradition? This “custom” is also celebrated in South Korea.

So happy White Day to all Japanese women, who probably enjoy the day a lot more than the men, running around in panic trying to find a good gift. Here is something we suggest for next White Day, based on what we learned about that tradition now: Make some nice white chocolate in the cute Rilakkuma molds (self-made stuff is a good key to the heart of a woman) and top it with a nice Rilakkuma chocolate cellphone charm (combines jewelry with sweets – a perfect match).
