We were contacted by a German seller who is organizing a special promo bag auction on Dawanda (the German version of Etsy) for a charity project called “Atmenreich”. They take care of children during the day who have respiration illnesses (lung etc.). Of course we agreed to join this project as it is for a good cause. We will sponsor some of our Japanese fabrics and send it to the seller. They will then sew some cute bags with those fabrics and fill it with lots of cute things from other sellers in Germany. These kawaii promo bags will be sold in April on Dawanda.com. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that this will be a successful charity project.

Today I found some really fun food in the supermarket here in Hong Kong. Guess what, I found Hello Kitty spaghetti, Hello Kitty olive oil, Hello Kitty ground coffee and Hello Kitty Italian biscuits. Isn’t that really crazy? I had to take some pictures to show you guys:

We are back at work today. We had a great Christmas holiday and enjoyed the time with my family a lot. But now we are back at work and with lots of new ideas and plans for 2010. Expect a lot of new products, offers and sooo much more. We will be busy packing for at least a few days now because we accumulated quite a big number of orders during our holidays. I hope everyone’s package will arrive quickly. Let’s have a fun, cute and successful start into the business year 2010!

We booked a private plane to take us to the Austrian and Swiss mountains for a great view. It was snowing the night before heavily and on the day of our flight, it was a perfect sunny day so we could take lots of great pictures of my home. Enjoy!

We wish everyone a Merry Christmas 2009! We are in Austria now visiting my family for Christmas and enjoying our holidays a lot. To give you guys an idea what we are doing, I added some photos below:

we went to Nurnberg, Germany to visit the famous Christmas market

in the Austrian mountains, it was snowing crazily and we had lots of fun.

We had to cover our mouth and nose because it was so freezing cold.

We are on holidays from 16th December till 4th of January and during this time we offer everyone a 10% discount on all items in our shop. We usually don’t do discounts but as all orders can only be shipped after 4th of January, we would like to compensate our customers with the longer waiting period. WOW, we got our 1,000th order in our shop today! Unbelievable! We would have never thought that our shop will grow so fast. Thanks to all our customers for your trust and loyalty! We really appreciate this success a lot. By the way, the 1,000th order is from a customer living in Lippstadt in Germany.

A few days ago I wrote that Alan wrote a Dawanda tool for us. Now, he also completed a product adding tool for our Etsy shop. The functionality is exactly the same as the Dawanda tool, just adapted to the Etsy settings. Here is a link to our Etsy Shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/modes4u

Alan programmed another tool for me to make my work easier. We have a Dawanda shop and sell some of our products in that shop as well. Have a look at our Dawanda Shop: kawaii Planet. Adding products to this shop is really a huge workload, therefore Alan wrote a tool for us that makes it possible to almost automatically upload new products from our product database to Dawanda without me doing a lot. No more “copy-paste”, no more ticking the same boxes, no more uploading of product photos! YAY! I am so excited! This will save me LOOOOTS of time (that I can use to search for more cute products for our shop).

I was really hard working the last 15 days and added 260 new products to our shop! Alan just finished writing a new software tool for me that helps me to write product descriptions, add product photos and upload them to the shop much faster than before. Because of that tool I was able to add so many new products within a short period of time. All those products were lying in our office and waiting to be added. Now they are finally online (and I am exhausted).
