First Sale on Etsy

We got our first order on Etsy already! Who would have thought we will get our first sale so fast? I added our items in the late evening yesterday and overnight we sold 2 stickers to a lady in the US. YAY! Keep the orders coming 😉

Start Selling on Etsy

Today we started selling on Etsy. Yay!

Etsy is a website providing online shops to sellers who sell hand made items, art and craft and supplies. As we have lots of stickers etc., we decided to try it out and start selling our stickers there. They are supplies for making art and craft so they are suitable to sell there.

Here is a showcase of our items there:

Chinese Bank Account

I got a new source of some suppliers in China and they have only bank accounts in China. So we had to get a Chinese bank account ourself. First, we opened a bank account at China Merchants Bank in Hong Kong and then Alan went to China and opened another account there at the same bank. Really complicated, but these banks here work like that.

We tried to use the internet banking today but it didn’t work. So we called to the Hong Kong branch and asked why and they said, we can only have one internet banking for each ID. Now, that is stupid. Alan has to go to the Hong Kong branch again and apply to connect these 2 accounts together so we will be able to transfer money from Hong Kong to China and then from there to our suppliers. Such a complicated procedure but, on the other hand, the fees are really low. So, who complains? I can’t wait to get this working so I can order lots of new items for my kawaii shop.

50th order in our shop

Another big milestone in our business history: We got 50 orders in our kawaii shop. It’s worth being patient and investing the time. The 50th order went to Niort in France. Next milestone we are looking forward to: 100 orders.

New Emo, Rockabilly items arrived

Today we got a few thousand new items. There are fingerless gloves, purses, wallets, hairclips, canvas shoulder bags and belts. Lots and lots of new products with prints like skulls, cherries, stars, polka dots, checker, stripes, roses, swallow, iron cross, butterfly, crossbones and many more.

Some cool skull hoodies arrived

Wow, we just got some really cool hoodies from our supplier. We have 3 different designs in 4 sizes (S, M, L, XL). One design is with Jack Skellington (from Nightmare Before Christmas) all over printed on the hoodie, another one is really cute with stars and skulls and the other one is with a big skull and stars and dices. New San-X items arrived

Today we finally got our first bunch of San-X items with Rilakkuma and Mamegoma merchandise. These things are so super kawaii! Their quality is really great and the design is so cute. We got some bags, cellphone charms and stationery items like pencil cases. Here are some pics of the products:

30th order received

Today we received our 30th order in our kawaii shop. Really cool. The order came from a German in Berlin. The 10th order we got on 9.6.2008. Coming up next: 50 orders 🙂 **YAY**

All products online

It took a while to upload all our new products but finally all our products are online. It is so much work until they are finally online. Here is an idea of what we have to do:

1. Check quantity
2. Take photos
3. Put them in our Database
4. Write German descriptions and measure items
5. Upload Products to Shop
6. Write English descriptions
7. Finished

Fashion Week Hong Kong 2008

We went to Fashion Week 2008 in Hong Kong today and checked out the new trends for the coming season. I love Fashion Week, seeing all these clothes, bags, shoes and accessories is just a dream for a girl. 🙂 We even found 2 companies who make some really interesting collections. One has a line with skulls, tatoo style prints, a bit similar to Ed Hardy. The other one is an agent for a New Zealand designer. She makes really pretty cute things with a character called “Misery“. We plan to work together in the future and distribute their products in Europe.
