Uh, especially all girls will love these new sets. We now have a super cute Disney Compact Mirror Re-Ment in our shop. It consists of 4 different mirror types with Cinderella, Snow White or Alice in Wonderland on them. The mirror charms are really embellished in a beautiful way and look very noble. Some mirrors are folding mirrors which you can flip open.

This will be for the ladies too. We bought a few items of some tiny Hello Kitty handbags offered by Re-Ment and are very curious to see how you like them. They are made of plastic and are very cute and bright in colours. The Hello Kitty designs printed on each bag are adorable.

What? You haven’t heard of that day before? Neither have we. Still the Worldday of the Snowman exists since 2010 and is kind of funny. It’s on January 18th as the ‘8′ resembles the shape of a snowman and the ‘1′ looks like the broom or stick he holds in his hand. Plus meteorologically it’s still winter – at least in many countries of the world. What are you supposed to do on that day? That depends on you, as it’s just a general day of action, where you can do anything related to the snowman. Like building a snowman for example.

…..Well, we would love to, but there was not quite enough snow in Hong Kong for that. But we still have some funny snowman items in our shop! And the best: They’re all on sale. Yes, we have been posting quite a bit about Chinese New Year in Hong Kong already. But there is just so much to see that we can’t stop. 98….99…..100%. Let’s celebrate. We just added the last product of our huge San-X delivery to our shop. This one really kept us busy for a long time, we already got all the items in december. But as there were so many new things and also a couple of public holidays over Christmas and New Year’s, it took us a while to get everything ready for the online shop. Chinese New Year is almost there and even if you don’t have a clue about it, you can definitely tell that it’s a big thing. At least if you live in Hong Kong, because by now - one week before the celebrations – the whole city has turned into a place of red and gold decorations. And as we have entered the crunch-time of preparing for the festivities, we found a lot of stuff we want to share with you. Because a lot of our favourite characters appear on Chinese New Year decorations.

Especially on Fai Chuns – paper decorations with good wishes that you can hang in your home – you can find cute characters like Hello Kitty, Rilakkuma, My Melody, Mickey or Minnie Mouse. Often the characters are combined with other symbols important for Chinese New Year such as mandarines, ingots (gold nuggets) or dragons (2012 is the year of the dragon), which mean good luck or prosperity. Fire cracker decorations (of course no real firecrackers) are also really popular as a Chinese New Year decoration. And the red envelopes or red packets must not be missing either. Those little paper envelopes are passed out during the celebrations filled with money. Usually married couples give them to unmarried juniors, adults give them to children too.

It’s time to write, guys. And not by pushing those smooth keys on your computer keyboard, but by using your fingers. We added soooo much stationery over the last days to our shop, what a waste it would be not to use them. Just look at that lovely Chou-fleur letter paper for example or the funny Kutusita Nyanko cat paw plush ballpoint. Don’t you want to start writing right away when seeing this?

Hey, isn’t that good news? Re-Ment announced two new sets, which will be released in Japan in January and February. They both are food Re-Ments with delicious dishes and candy. The first one to be released is a cute Minnie Mouse Re-Ment Set with lots of pastry, cupcakes and sweets. It also has an impressive and really huge birthday cake, the kind of cake every person dreams about. The set consists of 8 parts, will be released in Japan on the 23rd of January and is just perfect to be displayed in the Mickey & Minnie Re-Ment Showcase that we recently added to our shop.

On February 13th a new Hello Kitty set will be unleashed on Japan. It’s a really adorable Happy Birthday Re-Ment consisting of 6 sets with a great cake and more lovely birthday food. A nice gimmick: You can take out one piece of the cake, so you have two ways to display it. C-U-T-E.

Groupbuying websites are really in popular in Hong Kong at the moment. There are a lot of different sites that offer special deals where you can save a lot of money for certain products or services, but only if enough people buy it. You really find a lot of offers from restaurants and for beauty products or spas, but we also saw quite a few ones for cute items with our favourite characters.

One of the most interesting things was a deal on the platform Groupon, offering traditional Chinese Turnip Pudding and Red Bean CNY Pudding from Maxim’s cakes in Hello Kitty Style. Those two dishes are a specialty for Chinese New Year, which is starting at the end of January. On other groupbuying platforms we found cute Hello Kitty headphones plugy jacks or even the cute Little Red Riding Hood shopping bag.

We already wrote about Sandra’s and Alan’s cat staying in our office during their time in Austria. This week it was time for Miu to go home again. But she didn’t leave without having her big moment. And what a good one!

While being quite shy and careful at the beginning of her visit in our office, she got more adventurous with every day and explored every corner there is. Still our photographer Ho was quite surprised when he found Miu laying comfortably on his photo desk. He took advantage of the situation and took some cute pictures of our new super model with our stickers. Miu was quite a natural. Because she didn’t care about the camera and just relaxed. Perfect.

Now she has had her 5 minutes of fame and enjoys her home again. It’s probably for the best, as nobody would pay attention to our products anymore if an adorable real cat was in every picture.
