Dear Australian customers: A very happy Australia Day to you! To everybody else: Even if you’re not from Australia and have never heard about this day before, enjoy learning a little bit about January 26th. Because every year Australia celebrates on its national day the anniversary of the arrival of the First Fleet of 11 convict ships from Great Britain at Sydney Cove in 1788. It is one of the largest annual public events in the whole country, as there are many celebrations such as concerts, barbecues, festivals and fireworks. It is very popular to relax with family and friends on that day or to visit one of the numerous activities going on throughout the country.

We hope you have a nice day and a good party. In honor of the Australian National Day we today celebrate the most Australian symbol we could find in our shop: Our little koala bear eraser.

We got so many fun things during the last weeks that we thought it would be a nice idea to summarize some of the craziest stuff we have. To be honest, we could easily pick a top 50 selection, so reducing it to 10 items was the real challenge. If you have other suggestions for crazy products to include in this collection, feel free to share them with us. What a funny idea. Our cute teeth erasers were published in the december issue of German magazine Nido with kind of an educational mission. Nido is a lifestyle magazine for young parents and introduced the teeth erasers on their products page as a funny example of how you can teach your children what happens if you don’t brush your teeth. Not a bad idea, don’t you think?

We got a new delivery with cute erasers by Iwako and added them to our online shop today. Most of them are cute animals like koala bears, ladybirds, dragonflies, lions, tigers, monkeys and more, but we have also other designs, for example cool little American footballs. We also got some adorable new eraser sets. All erasers are really cute and colourful and very accurate in every detail. A lot of customers told us, that they love our erasers as little gifts for their Advent calendars. We think that’s a really good idea, as they are cute little somethings that have a very unique touch.

Getting new eraser deliveries definitely belongs to the highlights at our office. It’s just that everybody absolutely falls for the cute Japanese erasers and is always excited about the new designs. They are just so cute, colourful and accurate in detail. Friends of DIY, check this out. We added some cute eraser making kits from Japan to our shop today. You can make fruit, insect, doughnuts, sweets, skulls and more with colourful clay, we got several designs. Among our favourite ones are the kits to make skulls and princess stuff, as those erasers even glow in the dark. How cool is that? We just totally like the idea of making erasers ourselves, it’s just a very unique thing to do. Don’t you think?

Today Sonny, who is the Sales Manager from Debika Japan, came to visit us in our office. He flew from Japan to Hong Kong just to visit us and show us their newest products. Isn’t that nice of him? Debika is making lots of clay products which we are very interested in selling. Right now, we only sell one of their clay sets. With this set you can make your own jewelry charms using clay and some cute accessories.
But Debika has a lot more to offer including making your own erasers, soap, pottery + they have all the necessary accessories like molds, whipped cream clay, rhinestones and something really awesome: fragrances! You can use those small bottles to drip some liquid on to your finished project and it smells like maple, vanilla, chocolate or any of the other fragrances they have. I tested the maple fragrance, it smelled so good! Sonny told us that they use real food ingredients, so if you are hungry, you can even eat it
He also showed us some new products which will come out next month. The items I am most excited about are some clay finishes. You can make your clay look like wood, or a stone-finish, or a rough street look, metallic look etc. It really looks awesome. We are very excited to start working with Debika together and sell their products in our shop. I will keep you informed here on our blog once the products are available in our shop. Today I received a call from a man in Hong Kong who wanted to order Japanese food from us. As he didn’t speak English, I passed the phone to my colleague and he found out that this person saw our Japanese erasers on the web and thought we are selling Japanese food in Hong Kong. We had a big laugh afterwards. Our Japanese Food erasers look so realistic that people think we are selling real edible food. Now that is a funny story I will remember for a long time
