Stars, Planets, Space!

Today is Space Exploration Day! Humans have been intrigued and mystified by space for centuries now, with more and more incredible discoveries being made all the time. For example, earlier this month the Juno Spacecraft captured stunning images from Jupiter, after taking 5 years from Earth to reach Jupiter’s orbit! Happy Birthday Donald Duck!

Disney’s very own Donald Duck is celebrating his birthday today! June 9, 1934, marks the debut of this quirky character who quickly became one of the most famous and iconic cartoon characters of all time. He and other famous Disney characters have been featured in TV, film, books, video games, you name it! He’s also featured on kawaii stationery, Disney cellphone accessories and other merchandise because the world couldn’t seem to get enough of this funny, sometimes grumpy but always lovable duck. Thank Goodness for Tape

Tape is an everyday item we use so frequently, that we don’t always appreciate how useful it is! We use it on letters, for posters, to patch up torn paper etc., tape has proven to be very handy when trying to fix something. Now, we see it in all sorts of shapes, sizes, colors, strengths etc. But did you know that cellophane tape was only invented around the 1930s? It’s not even 100 years old but it’s incredibly necessary isn’t it? In appreciation of cellophane tape day, we’ve got a bunch of fun tape dispensers and tapes here to celebrate this awesome invention (we certainly use a lot of it in our office)!

It’s Visit Your Relatives Day!

Today marks a unique annual occurrence, known as Visit Your Relatives Day. Family and extended family are so important in today’s society, with many of us having special bonds with our family members, and these bonds are often treasured for a lifetime. Meet Kogumachan, from San-X

Your favorite San-X critters, Rilakkuma, Korilakkuma and Kiiroitori, have a new friend and his name is Kogumachan. The word Kogumachan itself means Little Bear and the story behind this cute new friend is that when Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma were in the Honey Forest, they came across Kogumachan. Kogumachan and Korilakkuma especially struck up a fun friendship, however the two do seem to squabble a little bit when with Rilakkuma! This little guy sports brown fur with a white tuft and is certainly as cute as his new friends. What do you think of this new little guy? Hello Kitty Halloween 2015

In a few days it will be Halloween and what better way is there than celebrating with Hello Kitty and her friends. Sanrio‘s cute cat will star a big Halloween event at Harmony Land in Japan. Looking at last year’s pictures, the party with the kawaii characters will be great fun with amazing live stage performances, dance and music. To get into the mood for the spooky celebrations you can already choose a funny Halloween costume using Sanrio’s Chanrio Maker to dress your digital characters after uploading photos or creating your avatar online. In addition, for those who simply cannot wait for their Halloween candy, we found this Tokyo bakery, which sells adorable Halloween cakes with Hello Kitty and My Melody designs.
