Hobby Show 2018 (Part 4)

To round off our posts on the Hobby Show that took place in Tokyo this year, we wanted to share pictures of amazing mini clay sculptures featured at the event. Japanese clay is incredibly popular amongst arts and crafts enthusiasts due to its high quality and variety. This year, exhibitors pulled out all the stops by showcasing intricate clay sculptures and holding live demonstrations. Attendees also participated and were able to work with clay at different booths. On display were sculptures of food, animals, and flowers. Check out the photos here!

Hobby Show 2018 (Part 3)

Continuing with our posts regarding the Hobby Show held in Tokyo this year, Sandra and Alan took more photos of the amazing items on display, including stunning Japanese fabrics and clothes! There were lots of gorgeous pre-cut fabrics, and plenty of displays showing off what can be made with these fabrics. To inspire attendees, booth organizers had created all sorts of items from different designs and these included dresses, tops, bags, toys and pouches. There were also lots of lovely sewing notions available, which people often use to decorate projects. Check out some of the images right here!

Hobby Show 2018 (Part 2)

Continuing with the Hobby Show in Tokyo, Sandra and Alan took lots of photos of the arts and crafts item: UV resin. This item is extremely popular amongst individuals who enjoy creating charms, costume jewellery etc. At the exhibition, an LED UV lamp was also on display, to show how it can be used to help quickly dry resin after it’s been placed in a mold. Given the lamp’s clever design, it can also be placed on its side to help dry resin in other directions. Live demonstrations were held to show how useful this lamp is for DIY enthusiasts. UV resin comes in several colors, as you can see in the images, meaning DIY enthusiasts can create all sorts of little items in a wide variety of colors!

Lots of super cute charms in the shapes of horses, birds etc., and jewellery were on display, and all of these were made from resin! Don’t they look amazing?

Hobby Show 2018 (Part 1)

This year, Japan’s Hobby Show took place in Tokyo and modeS4u’s Managing Director, and IT Manager, Sandra and Alan respectively, attended the event. Thousands of other visitors also flocked to the show, which featured tons of awesome arts and crafts items, to check out what was on display.

One trendy item that really caught the eyes of attendees who love DIY sets, was that of artificial flowers in jars of oil. Booths had been set up to display these gorgeous decorative pieces, as well as offer attendees the chance to create their own by allowing them to select flowers and different shaped jars.

Also on display were incredibly intricate toy animals made from wool! Placed together, an artist created little scenes featuring these toy animals and as you can see from the images, they look adorable and amazing! What do you think of these items so far?

Tokyo Trip: Creativity on Display

When wrapping up their trip to Tokyo, modeS4u’s Managing Director and IT Manager, Sandra and Alan, came across the works of some very talented designers who work with DIY products.  The first artist, Kuroda Tsubasa, uses pom poms to create realistic looking cats and dogs! The second artist is Nakayama Midori, who uses felt to also create very realistic furry friends. Check out some fun images of their work here!

Continuing with their trip to Tokyo, Sandra and Alan (modeS4u’s Managing Director and IT Manager respectively) also took a look at the incredibly colorful Kawaii Monster Cafe, which features some of the most creative and wackiest interior design we’ve ever seen! Many of the cafe’s displays looked like giant dessert figurines, whilst the walls were adorned with colorful macarons. There were amazing flower structures along the booths too!
