Today we bring you a free sewing pattern by Yoko Kubodera, of a square bag made with one of the latest stunning Echino fabrics. Isn’t it wonderful that there are so many talented sewing enthusiasts around to gain inspiration from?
This new Echino series of Japanese canvas textiles features rows of colorful festooned triangles onto a natural color background, with tossed silvery embellishments in the shape of prancing foxes and tiny more-or-less triangular spots that seem to float about like minute paper clippings. In this particular example, the chosen color is navy blue, so the bag will be a perfect add on to nautical style looks (you can of course, pick other colors if you like!). Let us know if you decide to give this project a try, and remember to send us your photos of the finished item!
Our favorite feature about this bag is the crisp-cornered, neat and yet somewhat softened square-shaped design, thanks to the ample gusset discreetly tucked under wide darker strips on side openings, and also to the color contrast created by the vivid pink lining. The bag looks fully wearable with casual street style! We do believe it is brilliantly designed, how do you like it? We’ve included some fabrics for you to consider trying with this pattern, check them out below!
