Some flower fabric designs make us feel like there is something magical floating about them! Hyun Joo Lee is one of the designers working for Robert Kaufman fabrics whose Asian-style floral works usually have this effect on us. Some of her gorgeous designs from the series Florentine Garden recently arrived in our kawaii shop, and we find them just stunning!
If you like sewing and Asian style fabrics, like those in the well known Imperial Collection series, here is a treat for you: a free sewing pattern for a quilt, using the absolutely beautiful fabrics by Hyun Joo Lee! Patterns feature different lovely flowers with metallic gold embellishment, and her chosen colors are ivory, turquoise, purple, and blue. We love each and every single one of them! The finished project is a square quilt measuring 157 x 157cm, and will be a magnificent addition to anyone’s bedroom.
This free pattern is recommended for sewing enthusiasts with intermediate skills, and you will be using many different fabric cut shapes arranged to form a central star alternatively surrounded by complex and simple frames. Go for it if you have some quilting experience and are ready to keep on perfecting your abilities! We’ve included some fabrics for you to check out and try in this pattern, plus a solid color fabric suggestion!
And do send us photos when you finish this fabulous quilt: you know there is a kind of magic in sharing what you do, too 😉
