Looking for a fun and challenging sewing project that would work great for yourself, or as a gift for someone special? Look no further because we have the project for you!
Here is a lovely free sewing pattern for a square quilt measuring about 161.3 x 161.3cm (or 63 x 63 inches), designed by Ariga Mahmoudlou using Robert Kaufman fabric. If you like unicorns, rainbows, children’s illustrations or multicolored creations, you will love this pattern that utilizes panel fabric! It really makes the most out of a magic animals’ fabric with eight panels featuring funny magical unicorns playing the electric guitar, sunbathing, acting the superhero, daydreaming on a cloud etc. Over a light cream background, there is a wonderful rainbow star block in the center of the quilt, surrounded by all unicorn panels in striped frames, seemingly joined at the corners by square blocks also made of striped fabrics. On the outside, there are two frames that use space fabrics in turquoise and violet with stars, planets etc. and a truly gorgeous thicker frame in between, embellished by eight-pointed star blocks in blue, green, yellow, red, violet, pink, orange and turquoise.
This pattern is recommended for people with some sewing experience, and at least an intermediate level of sewing skills. Check out the images below for an overview of the finished quilt, as well as some other fabrics that can work with this pattern.
