Chinese New Year is fast approaching!

The 2019 Lunar New Year festivities will take place in early February, to welcome the Year of the Pig.  This is a time to celebrate all over China, but also in other Asian countries, and wherever there is a Chinese community worldwide.  In fact, many people travel home to take part in the Chinese New Year celebrations with their loved ones!

You may often hear of it referred to as the Spring Festival, and it includes many beautiful traditions like family gatherings, visiting temples, giving away red envelopes with money inside, magnificent fireworks displays, and fabulous parades.  These feature wonderful floats, and are full of music and colour, but the traditional dragon and lion dances in the streets are probably their most striking attraction.

Everyone is getting ready for the biggest holiday here, and we have already found some nice pictures to share with you, just check them out below.  They are taken from the All About Hong Kong Facebook page, and include a delightful graphic design with little pigs for a ‘Year of the Pig’ travel card promotion, a great Dragon Dance Lego toy, and a charming set of sweet packages featuring funny dancing lions.  What do you think of them?
