These are not your usual large, bed-sized patchwork quilts, but mostly small and medium-sized projects which can be more easily handled! Therefore, we hope these will serve as inspiration for sewing beginners who are thinking of giving patchwork a try, or those crafters who would certainly like to acquire some quilting experience but are otherwise short of time, space, fabric remnants or sewing materials.
Moreover, the quilting projects that we bring you here today are personal creations beautifully handmade by the super talented aunt of modeS4u’s own Sandra, which makes them yet more special! Take a look at the pictures below, which Sandra was able to take recently. As you can see in the photos, patchwork can be turned into delightful wall art, but also into any type and size of decorative padded cover: for household items like tables and armchairs, for that special corner in need of a rug, as your new tree-skirt etc. You can easily beautify and make pleasant to the eye any otherwise too empty areas, and in pretty different styles too, with your own home textile creations!
We love the big red-black-white-grey star made of diamonds, and the gorgeous composition with five patchwork squares hanging from a thin rail on the wall. We also adore the marvelous rainbow landscape (with its tiny trees, so kawai!!) and the delightful geometric play of red on green stripes. In fact, we love everything! Sandra’s aunt has also tried some textile origami crafting with fabric strips to create those small stars on a white tablecloth 🙂 Which is your favorite?
