Come and see how lucky we are to be sending fabrics worldwide to such talented sewing enthusiasts such as Adali Fatma, from adali_creations! Check out below the fabric face masks and gorgeous manga jacket that she recently shared on her Instagram! These sewing projects have been made using some of our kawaii fabrics! We know you are going to love them as much as we do 🙂
Face masks are certainly widely used nowadays, and these look really comfortable. Making and wearing your own face mask is a great idea from a sustainability perspective too. The most recommended textile material to make fabric face masks is 100% tightly woven cotton, as it is a versatile resistant cloth made out of natural fibers that can be normally laundered, dried and ironed on medium to high temperatures. Most standard quilting cotton will do for face masks, while you should avoid knit fabrics like jerseys, and of course synthetic fabrics like polyester or nylon.
Adali makes a wonderful job of posing as a fashion model to show off her super cool jacket, it fits her perfectly, and we love her looks! Her idea to use a comic themed fabric for this pattern was brilliant, and the contrasting black collar and pocket flaps really are the icing on the cake! We also absolutely love the reversible hat and pouch (that matches the jacket she made)!
Remember that fabrics with dots, checkers and stripes are usually winners for face mask sewing, due to their small-scale patterns. We have lots of great fabrics in our kawaii shop, for these or any other sewing projects you have in mind!
