Squishies that look too kawaii to be true!

Some people, especially adults, keep wondering about squishies, and what the squishy craze is all about…so here goes some squishy explaining!  Hopefully, we will clear up some of your questions regarding squishies, and you will be better equipped to understand why these soft toys have become a non-stop kids’ and teens’ rage 😉

We believe the key factor involved in squishy popularity to be, precisely, their squishyness…and this is a quality that you cannot fully appreciate until you feel it for yourself! Therefore, we encourage everyone who is not yet personally familiar with squishies, to go and try some squishy-squeezing, and just delight in the experience! Of course, it is not purely a tactile thing, because the fact that squishies return to their original shape brings an important visual element into the fray. Simply watching a squishy get back to normal is a great contributor to the urge of wanting to squeeze it again! This effect is yet more prominent if you are dealing with what are called slow-rising or even super-slow-rising squishies, that take even more time to recover themselves from all the squishing.

Once you get to be in on squishies, you focus your attention on other squishy features that also contribute to making these toys enjoyable. You could say that general cuteness is a defining trait of most squishies, and stems from their chosen shape, colors and the theme/topic they relate to. If you take a moment to browse our extensive squishy collection, or simply head down below to some of the squishy pictures included with this post, you will notice that they mostly depict cute things, animals or characters. (For instance, there are many squishies in the shape of kawaii food items, like cupcakes, macarons, donuts, etc. You will also find lots of squishies resembling cute animals: Care Bears, puppies, kittens, rabbits, hamsters, baby sheep etc. And, of course, character squishies revolve around the epitome of kawaii creatures, like unicorns or mermaids, and the popular Japanese characters created by Sanrio, to mention just a few.) On top of that, they do so in a cute way, so there is no escape from the “kawaii-ness” of squishies…They look just too kawaii to be true!

If you are looking to buy good squishies, take a look at our squishy categories: we carry only licensed squishies from the best squishy brands in the market: Puni Maru, iBloom, Vlampo, Cafe de N etc. Squishies have been known to be used for other purposes too, such as for helping with stress relief.
