Coincidentally I found out that my interview incl. my pic was printed in another newspaper this week. The name of the newspaper is “Vorarlberger Wirtschaft” and is an economy newspaper mainly talking about the Austrian economy. They used the same interview and wrote a new text about me. The article is about my university in Austria “Fachhochschule Vorarlberg” and they mention me in the report saying I am an “entrepreneur in Hong Kong managing her own business” and have a “successful international carreer“. Sounds really good to me I didn’t know that my interview is going to be printed in another newspaper but today my sis sent me an email telling me that her boss just gave her that newspaper and told her that her sis is in the paper. An old customer of us visited me today in my office. He is from Germany and wanted to see our current products. Last year in April he visited me for the first time, I wrote about it here. He was our first visitor visiting us at our new office. Today, he ordered some items we had in stock and we may be also helping him to make a new online shop and optimize it for Google. His current shop isn’t suitable for Google and Alan will be able to optimize it for him. Alan is really knowledgeable about Google Search Engine Optimization and a very skillfull programmer. Today we got some really cute, kawaii bags from Pinkfoot in Korea. There are 2 different sizes and we got a few different designs including prints with bunnies, panda, bear, ducks, korean girl and many more. I checked my Google Analytics Account today to see how many visitors we had in our online shop over the weekend. Usually Germany is number 1 and USA number 2. But yesterday, Austria was for the first time number 1! The reason is very simple, my interview was publish yesterday and the shop link was placed very prominently under the headline. So some people wanted to check out my shop after reading my interview. We even got an order from a nearby village where I grew up. I guess I should do more interviews?!?

This week I had an interview with a local Austrian newspaper about the topic “Successful Austrian Women“. They interviewed me about my move to Hong Kong, opening my own business here and managing life overseas. The interview was published today in the newspaper called “Wann & Wo“. I got the interview request after my interview about my “after-graduation-experience-in Hong Kong” was published on 1st of February. If you want to read the full interview, please click here. They also wrote a bit about my personal life, that I live on an island, speak Chinese (Putonghua) and visit Austria once a year during Christmas.

Today we added 3 new product ranges to our kawaii shop. We have now kawaii fabric, cute fabric tape and adorable buttons. All of them are of really good quality and great for any art & craft or sewing project. Today we got our 150th order in our online shop modes4u.com! That is really great! YAY! The 150th order is from a lady in Freiburg, Germany. Thank you!

The first 50 orders took almost 6 months, the next 50 orders almost 3 months, these last 50 orders took only 2 months and 3 days. I expect to get to the 200th order in around 1.5 months. I will keep you posted.

Today I read a report in South China Morning Post, a local Hong Kong English newspaper about Hong Kong being the 4th most expensive city in the world. WOW! But no wonder, proprety prices here are really crazy. Since the Financial Crises the prices went down a bit but they are still extremly high. Our office is located a bit outside of the city center and therefore we could make a good deal (based on Hong Kong prices). But we could never afford a office in the city center. Below you can see a chart of average prices of renting and buying an apartment in Hong Kong. Office space is even more expensive! Can you imagine that?

Today our Amazon Shop was finally released after a last check up by Amazon. You can find us on Amazon Germany here: Kawaii Welt. “Kawaii Welt” is the shop name and means “Kawaii World” in German. For the moment, we will sell our Tenshi Neko bags, Mimori items and our products from San-X with Rilakkuma and Mamegoma. If we get a good feeling with these items, we will start adding more items, especially from our kawaii line. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for a successful start on Amazon Germany. I will keep you updated about success or (hopefully not) failure in the near future.

I found a new factory from Thailand producing Monster Dolls. They are super cute kawaii or naughty or just really funny dolls and are made with really good quality. They come in different sizes and can be used as a cellphone charm, key chain, attach it to your bag, inside your car or any other idea you can think of.
