Christmas crafts: Washi Tape Christmas cards

Washi Tape Christmas cards are one of the coolest ideas ever. They look so pretty and are unique. This year we made a couple of different models. Some were done super fast; the card with the three little Christmas trees honestly just took one minute to make. Other cards, for example the one with the snowman or the Christmas balls, took a bit longer, as round shapes are a bit more tricky. Which one do you like best?

Christmas crafts: Washi Tape window decoration

With Washi Tape it is super easy to craft some unique Christmas window decorations. For this DIY we made some abstract Christmas trees by sticking colorful pieces of Masking Tape on a window in our office. You can make any shape or decoration you want. The tape can be pulled off super easily if you need to correct or remove something.

Christmas crafts: Washi Tape Christmas wreath

This DIY is a fun alternative for using a real Christmas wreath. The Washi Tape Christmas wreath that we made is super light and can easily be attached to any door. We cut out a wreath from some thick cardboard and stuck pieces of green Masking Tape on it. You should stick them clockwise layer by layer and vary the tapes so that you get interesting visual effects.

Christmas crafts: Christmas Clothespin Ornament

Almost everybody has pegs at home. Why not use them as part of your Christmas decoration this year? For today’s Christmas DIY we made some Christmas star ornaments with pegs, Masking Tape and a plastic circle. You can also just use a circle of cardboard and stick the pegs onto it.

Christmas crafts: Christmas Phone Case

Another super easy Christmas DIY idea: style your phone case for Christmas. We just used a normal phone case and decorated it with some stripes of Washi Tape – our favourite crafting material. The tape might come off on the edges after a while when using the phone, but therefore you can easily remove the tape to get your original phone case back or to redecorate with other tapes.

Christmas crafts: Christmas Paper Bag Makeover

Do you also have lots of paper shopping bags at home that you always wanted to reuse? That’s great, because they make wonderful Christmas bags. In today’s Christmas craft it’s all about recycling. Because with some stripes of Washi tape you can turn paper bags into pretty and personalized Christmas bags.

For our project we used some paper bags we got at the Starbucks Coffee Shops. One of them even had a Christmas design, but we wanted to cover the logo and make them look more like Christmas bags. So we thought of a Christmas design that would work and the whole project was done within a couple of minutes.

You can also cover the handles with Washi Tapes, make name tags or combine other materials like fabric or cardboard into your designs. And as you can see you don’t even need Christmas tapes to create a Christmas look, it works with any tape. It’s a fun and fast thing to do, so start your bag makeover now with preparing a couple of bags each month to avoid the hassle in actual Christmas time.

Christmas crafts: Christmas Washi tea light candles

Today we’re starting our big Christmas crafts series. Even though the holiday is a couple of weeks away, we will present you at least one crafting idea per week now. You can collect them for later or already start crafting. The sooner you start with your preparations the more relaxing the actual Christmas time will be for you. Also don’t forget that shipping from our shop takes between 5 and 15 business days so we really recommend ordering early.

Our first project is a super easy and not too christmassy DIY: Washi tea light candles. It’s finished within minutes and looks great. Just grab some regular tea lights and stick a piece of colorful Masking Tape around it. All tapes with a width of 1.5cm / 0.5″ fit perfectly, you don’t even have to cut off anything. It immediately turns your tea lights into a festive decoration. It’s really up to you how christmassy you want it to be. You can use actual Christmas Washi tapes for decoration or also start with more subtle patterns or single-colored tapes that fit well to autumn or winter.

DIY Washi Tape Spice Jars

Another super easy idea what to use our Washi Tapes for: make colourful jars filled with spices. One of our team members wanted to create a pretty looking new spice rack and just got some small jars, filled them up with spices and decorated the lids with colourful Masking Tapes. It looks really pretty and also helps to find the right spices faster, as every jar looks different.

DIY: Washi Tape earrings

We totally adore Japanese Washi Tapes and discover new ways to use them all the time. The other day we did a super quick Masking Tape makeover for some old wooden earrings. We just chose some pretty tapes, stuck them onto the earrings and cut the edges off. We did it very fast, so our edges are a bit sloppy. You can secure the tape by putting a layer of clear nail polish on them. Or you just leave it like it is and can change the tapes whenever you like.

How to decorate your home with mt Casa Washi Tapes

A couple of weeks ago we got the beautiful mt Casa Washi Tape series for home decoration. As you can never have enough inspiration, especially when you can just decorate anything at home with the wide Masking tapes, we found some more beautiful examples of what to do with them.

mt was quite active and shot some videos to introduce ideas. The little film about a family who is decorating the apartment for dad’s birthday is really sweet and full of cool projects. We love the idea of decorating plain tablecloths or curtains for special occasions. Check out all the pictures below that show many mt Casa projects around the house. Aren’t these tapes a great way to easily decorate windows or a single-coloured kitchen? Just looking at the photos makes us want to start sticking tapes on everything in the office.
