Last year we teamed up with German designer Saskia Abel and sent her some of our fabrics to use for her first sewing book ‘Kleine Taschen: 20 Nähprojekte, hübsch und praktisch’. Now it is finally available and we love all the 20 little bags she made in the book. Check out the four projects she did with our fabrics:

We are featured in this lovely German sewing book about sewing little bags

Cute 2 in 1 phone pouch and wallet made with our Kokka penguin fabric

Adorable smartphone pouch sewed with our Robert Kaufman flower fabric

Cool wallet made from our organic birch fabric Birdie Spokes

eReader / tablet skin made with our Riley Blake polka dot fabric
Just in time for picnic season we got lots of kawaii new bento accessories by the Japanese manufacturer Torune. We have lots of new food cutters, food picks, bento cups, cutlery sets, but also useful kitchen helpers like silicone brushes, spatulas, graters, measuring spoons etc. A lot of the items come in cute cases, so that they are perfect for taking away, traveling or school.
Many of our customers shared their DIY-projects on our Facebook wall again. We always love to see what people make with our products, so have a look at some of the gorgeous items:
Srta. Pizpiretta from Spain sewed a lovely handbag with our green echino fabric cherry and even offers a Sew-Along Tutorial for it on her blog.
Valérie Verdalle from France made children’s bedclothes with the Timeless Treasures Noahs Ark fabric.
Joanna Lef from Switzerland made a super sweet girl’s dress with the apple pear poplin fabric by Cosmo.
Angela Orrù from Italy used some cute Deco tapes by San-X like the kawaii Rilakkuma strawberry deco tape to decorate her picture frames.
Our customer Heather May Riseborough from England sewed the coolest toddler’s shirts for her grandson with our Alexander Henry fabrics, like the Faces of Liwaza animal fabric.
Ladymorgana Le Fay from Spain made fabric book covers with many of our fabrics, like the great Sugar Skull Timeless Treasures fabric you see on the picture.
Great job everyone, we totally love all your ideas. Always feel free to share your projects with us.
The restaurant Ramen Iroha in Hong Kong is currently THE place to be for all Hello Kitty lovers. The restaurant transformed into a Hello Kitty heaven, everything is decorated with Hello Kitty, even the whole shop front in Causeway Bay. The promotion started on April 24th and will last for 3 months. During this time all the Japanese Ramen noodle soups come with a special Hello Kitty seaweed, but there is also a special new flavour with salty shrimp soup.
We haven’t been there ourselves but found these amazing pictures in an article on U-Travel Hong Kong. Hopefully we’ll have a chance to go, because as you see on the last picture there are longs lines in front of the shop. Lots of people want to enjoy the Hello Kitty decor with some delicious noodle soup. If you add 140 HKD during your visit you can also get the kawaii red Hello Kitty ramen bowl or the cool red Hello Kitty tote bag.
In the last weeks we teamed up with lots of great blogs that sew wonderful things with our fabrics. You might have seen them on our Facebook page already, but if not, here is a little overview:
Tilly from the blog Tilly and the Buttons made an amazing skirt with our Michael Miller lobster fabric.
Veronica from the blog sewVery used our black echino fabric cherry to sew an awesome bag.
Eva-Maria from the blog byevamaria made the most adorable Easter project with our kawaii organic Clothsworks fabric Critter Patch.
Yay, we have new Re-Ment sets from Japan. The kawaii Rilakkuma Maku Maku hamburger Re-Ment is full of tiny miniature hamburgers and other fast food dishes that are shaped like the cute Rilakkuma bear.
If you love Doraemon you will be happy to hear that we now carry the Doraemon Mini snack time Re-Ment. Doraemon shows his favourite snacks like biscuits, macarons, chocolate and more.
To receive the whole set of these two Re-Ments please order 8 pieces each. Then you will get each Re-Ment of that series once and also the original box.
San-X most popular bear character is definitely Rilakkuma. But there is another little bear fella in the San-X family who deserves your attention: Chocopa!
Chocopa
Chocolate, chocolate and even more chocolate. The kawaii baby panda Chocopa has a sweet tooth, because he wants to eat chocolate all the time. But one day a change happened when he took a bite of his favourite milk chocolate. Just like the chocolate bar he suddenly became all brown. Just when he drinks milk he becomes a panda bear again.
Nuts
The cute orange squirrel Nuts is Chocopa’s friend. The cute rodent wears brown glasses and looks very smart. He loves to sit on Chocopa’s head and often takes photos of him.
We’re inspired by spring and mix our own fruit salad today – on fabric. We carry lots of funny food fabrics with fruit or vegetable prints. Today we mix some apples, cherries, strawberries, pears and raspberries together. What a yummy collection.
The last months have been full of fabrics, but there is good news for all you stationery lovers out there. We also received lots of new kawaii Japanese stationery, mainly letter sets, memo pads and notebooks. There is new stuff by San-X, Mind Wave and Q-Lia. More will be added throughout the next weeks.
