In Hong Kong’s district Causeway Bay you can visit a restaurant and request your own cartoon character on your coffee. Cafe R&C draws any cartoon character on your coffee that you request and also writes your name next to it. What a fun idea! We found many cool pictures on the U-Travel Blog with latte art with Japanese characters like Minna No Tabo, Pom Pom Purin and Doraemon but we also saw pictures with designs from Monsters University. You can even watch how the character is drawn onto your coffee based on a picture. What character would you choose?

Just a couple of weeks ago you could visit the cute My Melody & Kuromi Pop-up Cafe in Hong Kong’s shopping mall Langham Place. Now the Sanrio Star Dining campaign puts the Little Twin Stars in the spotlight. The 100 Bites Cafe was transformed into the Little Twin Stars Pop-up Cafe and will keep the theme until October 31st. The decoration of the cafe interior as well as the special food in Little Twin Stars style look super kawaii.

Mid-Autumn Festival is already over, but we haven’t shown you all our pictures yet. And as the mid-autumn lanterns in Hong Kong are always so pretty and colorful – it would be a shame not to show them. This year’s theme of the main lantern display in Hong Kong’s Victoria Park was childhood memory toys.

It’s time for lanterns and mooncakes again. The Mid-Autumn Festival is coming up in Hong Kong and you can find beautiful lantern installations throughout the city. We already visited the World in Colours display in the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza in Tsim Sha Tsui. The lanterns show people from all around the world. Even though it is quite stereotypical and sometimes also political incorrect the lanterns still look pretty.

Langham Place has done it again. The shopping mall in Hong Kong’s district Mong Kok has been hosting Hello Kitty / Sanrio character themed exhibitions for a while and is currently running the Sanrio Star Chef Institute exhibition. Some of the most well-known Sanrio characters have their own little stations in this display, which is all about being or becoming a professional chef. The different parts are really great. Dear Daniel and Hello Kitty welcome visitors at the entrance of the Institute and there is a hallway which shows their chef certificates. My Melody waters the strawberries in the greenhouse while Kuromi and friends are experimenting in the food lab. Bad Badtz-Maru seems to be a famous star chef or teacher who has his own cooking show which is filmed by seal Hana-Maru. The Little Twin Stars are in charge of lectures about how to make drinks.
If you visit the exhibition you should definitely go to the upper levels of the mall, as there are many more exhibits to be found like the cool Hello Kitty ice cream truck or the cool hanging Sanrio sweets exhibits.

Currently you can visit a My Melody & Kuromi Pop-up Cafe in Hong Kong’s shopping mall Langham Place. The Cafe ishiyaki+ was transformed into the My Melody cafe and will keep the theme until September 14th, 2014. The Pop-up Cafe is part of the Sanrio Star Dining campaign which we will introduce further soon.
There are incredibly long lines for the cafe, so we didn’t eat there ourselves. The whole restaurant is decorated with My Melody and Kuromi designs and of course the food is too. There is a lunch menu, a high tea menu and a dinner menu which all contain some food sets with the designs of the Sanrio characters.
