Rilakkuma wants to know more about our team and this time around, he talks to our programmig wizard, Mark!
Hello, who are you by the way?
Hello, I’m Mark and I’m 28 years old. I was born in HK and went to both high school and university here. My hobbies include playing computer games, indoor gaming activities and watching television shows.
What is your job at modes4u?
I am a Programmer. My work includes online maintenance, website development and coding. I make sure things are working as smoothly as possible. I like working with numbers so programming is right for me.
What is your favourite product or your favourite category at modes4u?
My favorite products are re-ments because they’re like little treasure boxes! Each box contains something different so it’s always a surprise. My favorite types of re-ments are ones featuring different famous characters that everyone knows like Hello Kitty because they’re fun and interesting.
What do you like most about your job at modes4u?
I like that there is a very positive work atmosphere here. We don’t need to wear suits so I get to come to work in jeans and sneakers. As I mentioned, I like working with numbers so I enjoy my work programming, it’s a very focused position.
You’re surrounded by creative stuff the whole day. Do you like to craft or to be creative in your leisure time?
I like crafting websites. I can create boundaries, designs and layouts using numbers and codes. This involves a step-by-step process so even though it’s not using wood or plastic, it’s still crafting!

Rilakkuma is back for another interview! This time he talks to modes4u’s accounting genius, Sylvania!
Hello, who are you by the way?
I am Sylvania. I was born in Hong Kong and grew up here. HK is an exciting place full of wonderful people. I have studied abroad but my hometown is still my favorite place to live. I like to read, and have knowledge in area such as arts, economics, accounting and so on. I like numbers.
What is your job at modes4u?
I work all day with figures. Yes, I think you guessed right – I work in the accounting department. I have been working in this field since I graduated. It is an interesting area because figures are not just about numbers, they tell you stories. Sometimes the stories behind the scenes are important, sometimes they’re very similar, sometimes they give a big surprise.
What is your favourite product or your favourite category at modes4u?
I love floral fabrics. Many of our fabrics come from famous well-known suppliers and designers like Robert Kaufman, Alexander Henry and Michael Miller from the US, and Kobayashi from Japan. They are all top quality fabrics that are beautiful, detailed and have fabulous printed floral designs in Japanese, Asian and European styles.
What do you like most about your job at modes4u?
Modes4u is a growing company consisting of young colleagues full of enthusiasm, warmth, kind hearts and a willingness to help each other. Modes4u gives me opportunities to learn and to improve. Besides my accounting duties, I have learned how to wrap packages professionally with the packaging team. I have learned about fabrics too. Different types of fabrics have different characteristics like organic ones, flannel ones, knits, laminated fabrics and so on, that I had never thought about before working here.
You’re surrounded by creative stuff the whole day. Do you like to craft or to be creative in your leisure time?
I do not craft but I do like to join workshops to learn about making hand-made soap, as well as cultivate organic vegetables during my leisure.

Our accounting genius!

Sylvania needs to help wake up Rilakkuma for the interview!
