We found some really cute Valentine’s Day Bentos on several blogs that might inspire you. They look super adorable and are a great way to express your love. Time for a man’s opinion. Today our warehouse expert Burton thinks of some Christmas present suggestions. He has a little help from our big Rilakkuma mascot of course.

Rilakkuma and Burton have some Christmas gift suggestions for you
1. Plugys
It’a always fun to decorate and individualize your phone. The cute mobile phone plugys are just plugged into your earphone jack. They look super cute and also protect the earphone jack from dust and moisture.
2. Bento Sets
If you’re looking for a big Christmas present, you can compose a whole bento set. Either you pick one which is already sold as a set or you combine all the parts yourself. A bento box, a lunch bag and some chopsticks should definitely be included, but you can add as many things as you want: bento towels, cutlery, food picks, sauce containers, cups, dividers and more.
3. Eraser Sets
The wonderfully detailed erasers by Japanese manufacturer Iwako are always a nice little present or add-on. But there are also many cool Iwako eraser sets, which always follow a special theme and consist of several pieces.
4. Sumikkogurashi items
The kawaii shy Sumikkogurashi animals, who love to hide in the corner, are one of San-X’ newer characters. We carry lots of stationery items, bento items and plush toys with the cute bears, penguins, cats, cutlets and all the other members of the Sumikkogurashi family.
5. Tape Dispensers
Almost everybody has a tape dispenser at home. But are they as cute as the tape dispensers from our shop?
6. Popin’ Cookin’ DIY candy
These DIY sets are awesome Christmas gifts. Popin’ Cookin’ sets are edible DIY candies in funny shapes, that you can easily make yourself by adding water to the ingredients of the package.
With this set your lunch becomes the most delicious meal of the day. We now carry a super cute and quite elaborate bento set from the “Rilakkuma Egg Kitchen” collection. It is our favourite product of the week. The set consists of a cool plaid lunch bag with two little bento boxes for side dishes and one insulated box for rice, pasta etc. A little fork is included in an extra case too. Your lunch can stay hot up to 6 hours in the insulated bag and it’s really comfortable to carry around. Plus the Rilakkuma design is very kawaii.
Wouldn’t that be a great gift for Mother’s Day?
During our last business trips to Japan we also visited Sunshine City. The super big complex is Tokyo’s first city within the city and contains lots of shops, restaurants, an aquarium, planetarium, museum, indoor theme park, a hotel and offices.
We were interested in looking at the shops to find kawaii products and were super impressed. It was a shopping paradise! We took so many pictures of all the things that we decided to split them up into different themed blog posts, so that you can see all of them. Today we’ll start with bentos and kitchen accessories. It’s so amazing how much super cute stuff they have there: thousands of chopsticks, bento boxes and all the bento accessories you could imagine.

After Kiddy Land, we decided to go to Shibuya for dinner. We arrived at Shibuya station and wanted to see the famous Hachiko statue first. Hachiko is a dog and the story became famous in Western countries because of the movie with Richard Gere “Hachiko – A dog’s story“. It was great seeing the statue in person.

After that we went to the most famous crossway in Tokyo which is just HUGE! There are so many people crossing the street at once, it is just amazing to stand there in the middle of the crowd and watching them.

famous crossway in Shibuya, Tokyo

Shibuya has lots of restaurants, it was hard to choose one

many restaurants present their dishes in front of the restaurant, the dishes are made in plastic

to order those noodles, you need to choose your meal in front of the restaurant at the vending machine and pay right there. Then you go inside and get your order. Apparently Wentworth Miller from Prison Break visited this place before as his picture eating their noodles hang in the window display.

while looking for dinner we saw my favorite car, a white Lamborghini 🙂

we chose a cozy Japanese restaurant serving different BBQ dishes
After dinner, we had to go to LOFT, which I heard a lot of before and was nearby anyway. LOFT is a huge shop, total 7 floors, with lots and lots of stationery and anything else you can imagine related to office, school, hobby, toys, home and more. We took lots of pictures inside, have a look:
