Many of the amazing brands we carry, such as Copenhagen Print Factory, Robert Kaufman etc., provide fabrics that are either GOTS certified or meet the requirements of the Oeko Tex Standard.
GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) is a standard for designers requiring that cotton used in fabrics is cultivated in areas that are free of chemicals such as pesticides. This is a very high standard to meet and Copenhagen Print Factory ensures many of their fabrics are organic.
The Oeko Tex Standard ensures that throughout the various production stages of the design and creation of a fabric, these stages are run in environmentally friendly manners and that chemicals used are not harmful to humans.

modes4u’s own Managing Director, Sandra Boch, and IT Manager, Alan Mak, recently stopped by Birch’s office in the US. There, they had a chance to speak with the fantastic team at Birch, who work tirelessly to design and produce some of the most stunning organic fabrics, many of which we feature in our store! Their fabrics are also processed in accordance to Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS), which is a world-know standard for organic fabrics. During their visit, Sandra and Alan were able to discuss upcoming fabric designs as well as take a small tour of Birch’s office. Check out the images below!

Earlier this week, our Managing Director Sandra Boch, and IT Manager Alan Mak, jetted off from Hong Kong all the way to San Francisco to meet with the incredibly talented fabric design company, Monaluna. Monaluna specializes in stunning organic fabrics that are GOTS certified, meaning their fabrics are produced in an environmentally friendly manner. Not only are the fabrics organic, they’re also vibrant, colorful and unique! Whilst there, Sandra and Alan spoke with Monaluna’s founder, Jennifer Moore, and had a chance to take a look at Monaluna’s beautiful store, seen in the images here.
We have more Monaluna fabrics coming soon. Make sure to check out their beautiful organic fabrics we currently carry! What’s your favorite fabric by them?

It’s time again for a short edition of “what customers make with our fabrics”. In the last weeks our French customer Little Clary showed us her cool UK flag shirt, she sewed using one of our Riley Blake fabrics. Our Spanish customer Momita reminded us of her tutorial for sewing garments with a funny ostriches using Robert Kaufman fabric and from Germany we received pictures of bright owl pillows for a children’s hospital. Another French customer Le Blog de Claire showed us her sewed collection of mini dresses for cute animal dolls, using Elizabeth’s studio fabric and fabrics from Japan.

Le Blog de Claire from France is passionate about her mice with lovely dresses. http://foncee.canalblog.com/
This year we had a wonderful experience travelling to the United States to visit the Quilt Market in Minneapolis. The international fabric exhibition was a great chance to be inspired by an abundance of amazing designs. We had the opportunity to talk to all of our favorite suppliers like Robert Kaufman, Riley Blake, Alexander Henry and many more and selected a lot of beautiful patterns to complement the great collections we already carry in our shop. While we really love all of our brands, we also found some gorgeous new fabrics of less known exhibitors like Andover that have just become available on modes4u.

Alexander Henry always have many new fabric patterns and design ideas.

Lovely fruit tablecloth at the Alexander Henry booth.

We all love handbags. Especially those made from our favorite fabrics.

At the Quilt Market 2015 we had the chance to speak to many experts.

We can’t wait for Halloween with these super cute owl quilt designs.

Compared to other international trade fares, the Quilt Market in Minneapolis has a calm and professional feel.

Andover’s ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ now available in our shop.

A very cute caterpillar and butterfly apron.
