It’s fabric time again, we just finished adding lots of new Michael Miller fabrics to our shop. We have lots of new collections with adorable animal prints, but also cool graphical designs with polka dots and other patterns. We can also introduce a new material in our shop: cotton sateen. It is 100% cotton but a little heavier than regular Michael Miller cotton fabrics. It has a wonderful smooth feel and is therefore very suitable for sewing light home decor like cushions, curtains, kitchen decoration and so on. The cotton sateen fabrics from the bekko collection by designer Trenna Travis come in wonderful graphical prints such as stripes, swirls, waves and more which are great designs for home decor.

In the past weeks quite a few customers showed us on our Facebook wall what they did with fabrics they ordered from our shop. We always love to see these projects, as they are a great source of inspiration. So we collected a few pictures to show you on our blog.
Our German customer Anita made a summer dress for her little daughter with the lovely Michael Miller Nicht Fairies fabrics. It looks wonderful and immediately makes us think of warm summer nights with starry skies. Les Bêtes de Céline from France sewed another great bag with our laminate fabrics. She combined two black and white fabrics from Michael Miller with an Eiffel Tower and zebra design. The combinations works perfectly and as the fabrics are laminated, they are also waterproof and great for outdoor use.
For the first time we also saw our fabrics being used in furniture projects. The blog Sew Much Ado used the laminated echino frame fabric in pale pink to reupholster four chairs in her dining room. She did a very detailed tutorial, so you can copy that project. It’s a great idea to use laminates, as it happens quite often that food or drinks are spilled on chairs, especially when you have children.
Our customer Alicia from California reupholstered a stool with a kawaii Cosmo animal fabric. It looks awesome and gives a whole new look to this piece of furniture.
Feel free to post pictures of your projects on our Facebook wall, we’re looking forward to it.

We just got the DaWanda Lovebook today, in which we are published. DaWanda is an online marketplace where you can buy unique and self-made stuff from different suppliers and designers. Of course we have our own site there too. Each year DaWanda releases a lovebook for the press where they exclusively present 170 of the loveliest items available. For the edition 2011/2012 one of our fabrics got selected too. It’s by Michael Miller with a very cute Christmas deer print. It’s so great to be in there. When looking through the book I noticed that two of our customers are presented as well. And guess what, they even printed photos of their clothes that are made out of our fabrics. One customer made a cute dress with our fabric, another one sewed an adorable cushion cover.
