It’s baby time again at modes4u. Last year our former customer service manager Gabi had the first modes4u baby. Now the second super sweet baby boy is born. Little Mason is the adorable son of Sandra and Alan – the modes4u founders and bosses.
The whole team got to meet little Mason a couple of weeks after his birth, and as we already knew that our big soft office Rilakkuma makes a great baby bed of course Mason had to nap on his comfortable belly too. He seemed to enjoy it very much. Congratulations Sandra and Alan and welcome Mason!

What an unforgettable birthday cake! Last week we celebrated the birthday of our team member Bianca. As she loves ice cream so much she got an incredible mango ice cream cake. Of course the whole team wanted to share the cake and that’s when the trouble began. It was made of solid ice cream so it was impossible to cut, as it was almost hard as stone. Still we tried and it took like 30 minutes and many knifes dipped in hot water to get the 15 pieces necessary. But it was worth it, it tasted great. Thanks everybody who took turns in cutting the cake! Happy Birthday Bianca!

Birthday time at modes4u. A couple of days ago we celebrated the birthday of our team member Ho by having a nice Dim Sum lunch in a new restaurant. It was a whole new experience for everyone, as this restaurant didn’t use the traditional bamboo steaming baskets to make the food but colourful silicone steaming baskets. None of us have ever seen that before, it looked really nice. The food was delicious too and as a nice surprise Ho got special birthday buns, which are filled with lotus paste and have a red mark on the outside.
But a birthday isn’t a birthday without a proper cake, so later in the office we all shared a nice creamy birthday cake. What a yummy day. Happy Birthday Ho!

Summertime is wedding time all around the world – also at modes4u. Our team member Maggie just got married and invited the whole team to join the wedding ceremony. The bride and groom picked a lovely little church in Hong Kong for the wedding, which looked very much like an ancient European church with stucco on the ceilings and colourful mosaic windows. That it was not that old was revealed by the fact that there were integrated monitors in those parts where you couldn’t see the altar very well and got a video feed of what is happening. A very convenient feature.
The church was packed with friends and family of the couple who enjoyed the fairy tale like wedding. Of course the bride looked stunning in her beautiful wedding dress as did the groom in his tuxedo. The ceremony was held in Cantonese and was very touching – even for our team members who didn’t understand the language. As wedding photos are very important in Hong Kong there were many photographers and of course all the guests also took lots of pictures.
It was a really beautiful wedding and we enjoyed it very much. Congratulations to Maggie & Kenneth from the whole team!

This week we had a big Dim Sum lunch with the whole team, as there were three reasons to celebrate:
1. Chinese New Year. The big celebrations to welcome the new year are already over, but as we were so busy packing and sending orders after the big CNY holiday, we decided to postpone our CNY lunch to this week.
2. Our new team member Habib. He started already a couple of weeks ago and supports our packing team. So now our packing ladies finally have a man on their side.
3. Our new team member Kitty. She is our new customer service manager, as our current customer service fairy Gabi will be a mother soon.
As always we ordered tons of yummy things and returned will full bellies to the office. We also took a funny video while we were waiting for the food, check it out to see our whole team.
The table is full of delicious food.

Last week was super busy, because we had a big Chinese New Year holiday until Wednesday. On Thursday and Friday we tried to catch up packing and sending over 1,000 orders that came in during the holiday. Still we took the time to celebrate Bianca’s birthday with a chocolate cake topped and filled with lots of marshmallows and meringues. It was the perfect sugar rush for all of us on a fast-paced day, everybody was in heaven while eating it.
Happy Birthday, Bianca!
Look how happy she is about the cake! It is Biancas birthday

The modes4u team looked a bit tired as it was a super busy day. After the cake everybody was wide awake and happy on a sugar rush
This week we celebrated another birthday at the office. Gabi did not just get a really big Tiramisu cake, but also colourful cookies spelling ‘Happy Birthday’. Part of the modes4u team is visiting a trade show in Japan at the moment, so there was even more food to enjoy for the rest of us. Everybody got a really big piece of the creamy cake and a cookie as well. Is there any better way to spend your lunch break?
Happy Birthday Gabi.

Smiles all around, everybody is looking forward to eating the cake
Our days at the office before Christmas are still super busy, but there is always time for cake. Yesterday we celebrated the birthday of our newest staff member Veronica. We got her a super yummy chestnut cake, which is quite typical for Hong Kong. She really didn’t expect to be surprised with a cake and a birthday song after work, but of course that’s a tradition at modes4u. As part of our team is on holiday, not everybody was there to enjoy the cake, but all the ones who ate it really loved the sweet finale of the day.
Happy Birthday Veronica!
