New stretchy knit fabrics by Robert Kaufman

Knit fabrics are great for apparel, they are comfy, drape well and stretch. We received new Robert Kaufman jersey fabrics from the cool Laguna Jersey collection. A lot of them are designed by Ann Kelle and show mustaches, flowers, maritime anchors or hounds tooth patterns.

We are featured in a French poetry book

Our products have appeared in quite a few books already, but never in a book like that. Our photo of the funny ant gingham Timeless Treasures fabric is the cover photo of the French poetry book Haïku-Gnoni. It features Haiku poems, which is a short form of Japanese poetry, in French language. The author Mario Fulchignoni found the picture on our website and thought it would be a good title picture. Thanks for featuring our photo and congratulations on the publishing of the book.

Meet the San-X characters: Toromi

Today we meet Toromi, a funny French bulldog girl puppy, who became a member of the San-X family in 2012. Her name literally means “thick” because she looks and feels like Mochi – the typical Japanese rice cake dessert. Toromi is known for her slow and slightly stupid movements, but her clumsiness is super cute. Even though she is slow, she is super curious and changes position all the time. Her little pink teddy bear is her favourite toy. She loves to eat mochi, sweets and all kinds of soft food.

Our fabric in German magazine Deco Home

Our fun birch polka dot organic knit fabric is featured in the current issue of Deco Home – a German magazine about textile home decor. They did a special about textiles in a 60’s retro design. Unfortunately the featured fabric is currently sold out in our shop, but we have quite a few similar dotted birch fabrics.

New: kawaii stamp pens

Perfect for crafting afternoons at home, for school or kindergarten. We have super cute small new stamp pens from Japan in our shop. They come with two designs each in different colors, the ink pad is integrated into the stamp already. These stamp pens are available as regular stamps or as rolling stamps. The rolling stamps come with a built-in roll that allows to make infinite stamp lines.

Digitally printed Robert Kaufman combed cotton fabrics

The Robert Kaufman fabrics from the collection Bloominescent introduce 2 brand new features that we did not have in our shop before:

1. They are digitally printed. Due to this the flower designs are incredibly bright, sharp and strong in color.

2. They are combed cotton. Compared to the regular Robert Kaufman cottons the combed cottons from this collection are softer and lighter. The fibers of combed cotton are treated in a special way. Fine brushes remove impurities in the cotton as well as short fibers, which might stick out later and prickle on the skin. Therefore combed cotton feels very nice and smooth on the skin and is especially suitable for making shirts and clothes that are in direct contact with the skin. Of course this applies to bed linen and home accessories as well. As short fibers are removed, the fabric is also very strong and lasting.

Many new birch and echino fabrics

We now carry two beautiful new organic fabric collections by birch from the USA. In the collection Frolic you’ll find many adorable animal and flower prints. Everyday Party has forest animal designs with bears, elephants, ants, birds and more. Some designs are also available as knit fabrics. If you you need some basics, you might be interested in our new single-colored birch flannel fabrics.

From Japan we received the color-intense echino collections bee, birds, kalmia, pipi and hide. Some of these designs were already available as laminate fabrics in our shop, but now we also have the pure Cavas version.

Our second modes4u baby

It’s baby time again at modes4u. Last year our former customer service manager Gabi had the first modes4u baby. Now the second super sweet baby boy is born. Little Mason is the adorable son of Sandra and Alan – the modes4u founders and bosses.

The whole team got to meet little Mason a couple of weeks after his birth, and as we already knew that our big soft office Rilakkuma makes a great baby bed of course Mason had to nap on his comfortable belly too. He seemed to enjoy it very much. Congratulations Sandra and Alan and welcome Mason!
