What an unforgettable birthday cake! Last week we celebrated the birthday of our team member Bianca. As she loves ice cream so much she got an incredible mango ice cream cake. Of course the whole team wanted to share the cake and that’s when the trouble began. It was made of solid ice cream so it was impossible to cut, as it was almost hard as stone. Still we tried and it took like 30 minutes and many knifes dipped in hot water to get the 15 pieces necessary. But it was worth it, it tasted great. Thanks everybody who took turns in cutting the cake! Happy Birthday Bianca!

“Meow” is the sound of today’s San-X character. Kawaii cat Kutusita Nyanko and his little furry friends are now the stars of our blog series.
Kutusita Nyanko
The small black cat Kutusita Nyanko wears white socks on every paw and looks super adorable. His real name is “Bon Chan”. He lives with a human called “Papa” and loves him very much. But Papa has to work all day long to be able to buy cat food for his cats. Kutusita Nyanko loves music, especially the piano and the violin. Strawberries and sweets are some of his favourite foods. He loves to spend time outside where he plays with his cat friends.
Burme
Burme is a small brown cat that is living with Kutusita Nyanko. It is very shy but has a big heart. Burme totally enjoys playing with Kutusita Nyanko.
Norwecci
The small fluffy cat has milktea colored fur. Norwecci is very happy that Kutusita Nyanko took it home, where it now lives with the other cats.
Russie
Silver-grey cat Russie is a good friend of Kutusita Nyanko. He belongs to a friend of Papa and comes to visit whenever the two humans meet. Russie is friendly and polite to everyone.
Time to take a look at more beautiful projects that our customers made with our fabrics.
Lily from Australia used our Waterfront Park fabric bundle by Michael Miller to give a facelift to her couch pillows. As all the fabric pieces are from the same collection they go together very well even though they all look different. Every pillow has a different front and back. We think it looks so lovely and love the fact that you can redecorate your living room just by turning over a pillow. If you like this collection, we also have other Waterfront Park pre-cuts.
On the French blog Les Bêtes de Céline we saw a wonderful children’s shirt that was sewn with our monaluna tractor organic fabric. It looks like so much fun and fits perfectly to the little boy. Thumbs up!
Feel free to post pictures of your sewing projects with our fabrics on our Facebook wall, we love to see what you do with our products.

If you want to prepare food in the shape of characters, Mameshiba is the way to go. Mameshiba are a hybrid of beans and dogs and very popular characters in Japan. Their bean shape is quite easy and can be made with different food. We found a couple of great examples on different blogs:
Not only do we love the great fabrics from our supplier Michael Miller, but also their blog! You can always find great ideas on what to sew with Michael Miller fabrics. We found a detailed introduction of the collection Les Monsieurs by Tamara Kate with lots of inspiring pictures. You can buy lots of Tamara Kate fabrics in our shop. And if you want to go one step further: Tamara Kate even offers many sewing tutorials on her blog, for example for the awesome skirt or this cape made with fabrics from the Les Monsieurs collection.

Meet the cute Sentimental Circus characters
Sentimental Circus is the second most popular character from the San-X family after Rilakkuma. We also carry more than 400 different Sentimental Circus products in our shop and get new ones frequently. Time to get to know the different circus animals a bit better.
The Sentimental Circus animals are abandoned toys. They gathered from the streets or the corners of the children rooms where they were left and awake every night after the whole town has fallen asleep. Then they start their circus show and every character has a great act to perform. Here are some of the cute fellas:
Shappo
Rabbit Shappo is the ringmaster of the circus and the main character of the Sentimental Circus crew. He always wears a small top hat which has needles, thread and magic props hidden inside. He is very good at fancywork and tries to dress well. He has a thing for capes.
Mouton
The turquoise elephant Mouton is very easygoing, but when the curtain goes up he gets very active and starts his acrobatics act. He is great at balancing balls.
Rio
White lion Rio is the biggest plush in the circus. His crest is actually detachable. His circus act is jumping through a hoop.
Mr. Bear
The cute bear Mr. Bear is a toy made of tin plate. He is the artistic cycling performer always running gleefully.
Kuro
The black cat Kuro looks a bit like an owl. He is the performer of the rolling globe.
Toto
Toto is Shappo’s closest companion. He is made of remnants and very sensitive. He shows a very impressive juggling act.
