Animal prints have been making a gorgeous comeback in recent years, and today we bring you a great free sewing pattern that makes excellent use of some Robert Kaufman fabrics with animal designs. In the images included below, you will see the completed quilt features a frontal take of a roaring lion walking towards the observer!
This powerful central panel is surrounded first by multiple dark frames, with circles in different animal prints adorning opposite corners, and then by a wide outer frame in golden light brown fur print. All these Robert Kaufman designs belong to the Animal Kingdom collection, and will add warmth, and a touch of the exotic and wild to any sewing project.
This particular quilt measures about 122cm x 166cm, and you can use any fabric you like as backing. The project is recommended for beginners, and will be finished in no time, as it really needs cutting and sewing just a few pieces of fabric. Give it a try, and please do send us your pictures of the finished project! We would love to see and share them!
As you all know by now, we will continue working in our shop from Singapore soon, and this quilt looked like the perfect fit to hint at this move! The lion head is one of the symbols of Singapore, a name that means “Lion City” in Malay language. We will certainly talk more about these in a near future 😉 Until then, keep on sewing and enjoy!
