Here’s a FREE sewing pattern for a tulip filled wall hanging!

We have another free sewing pattern for you, this time for a lovely wall hanging, that we definitely wanted to share here. It features one of several Timeless Treasures’ panel fabrics which recently arrived in our shop. Check out the delightful image below for an overview of the finished quilt; see how it cries out spring and summer with all its might!

This is a great sewing project for beginners and it requires only a modest amount of work, therefore it’s perfect for anyone learning the ropes of quilting. The central panel features a country landscape with a red American barn and some blooming trees at the top, plus a bottom section filled with magnificent tulips in all colors. This nature design is doubly framed, with an inner strip of sky surrounded by an outer wide strip of tree tops. We’ve included a number of fabric suggestions here, including some slightly different designs if you want to try this quilt out with a slightly different look!

If you are a quilting beginner, the idea of hanging a quilt on your wall for decoration may come as a surprise, but once you check out this beautiful project, you will never look at quilts, fabric panels and bare walls the same way again 🙂 There is really nothing new in the idea of fabric wall hangings, in fact we humans have been using them to insulate, decorate and protect walls all throughout history! So here is a great chance to ‘go back to basics’, recovering a somewhat forgotten use of fabric crafts that will let you enjoy your artistic sewing creations differently.
