This quilt is made from beautiful Robert Kaufman fabric, specifically the fabric featuring an image of the painting, “A Sunday on La Grande Jatte” (the painting was originally painted by Georges Seurat in 1884). It’s an absolutely breathtaking image of a peaceful day being enjoyed by people out and about.

You might be a bit curious about the style of painting featured in the image. It’s known as pointillism and Georges Seurat was one of the original artists to really develop this art style. If you’re a beginner at sewing and this project seems a teeny bit intimidating, don’t worry, this project is suitable for beginners! Hooray! This quilt is a fantastic way to hone your skills. And don’t worry if your quilt doesn’t quite turn out perfect right away, it’s all about practice. After a few sewing projects, you’ll be a sewing pro in no time!
