Beautiful Lantern Carnival for Mid-Autumn Festival in Hong Kong

by modes4u

We just celebrated Mid-Autumn Festival here in Hong Kong, a wonderful harvest festival with lots of beautiful lantern installations all around the city. In Victoria Park there is a Lantern Wonderland every year which is really huge and impressive. But we also spotted beautiful lanterns at the harbour front of Tsim Sha Tsui. The theme of the little exhibition was ‘Home Sweet home’ and depicted typical situations of family life in Hong Kong like having a BBQ, eating Dim Sum, reading out to the children etc.

The lantern exhibition at Victoria Park revolved around the topic of food in Hong Kong. There were lots of funny lanterns depicting the favourite snacks and dishes of Hong Kongers, but also other themes could be found like a little animal love zoo or the ‘Rising Moon’, which was the centerpiece of this year’s exhibition. It was 10 meters high and made from 7,000 recycled plastic bottles lit with LED lights
